Everything's shiny, captain!

Mon Jun 29, 2009, 5:23 PM
Today was an excellent day. First, Germany's U21 team won the European Championship, and of all the teams to beat in the final, we beat England. Our boys played really solid football today, it was a great match.

Second, my godmother came to visit, and she brought presents--chocolate and pencils, the best kind of present. She's going to stay for two weeks, which is nice.

And third, when she and Mam came home today, they brought the kitten with them. She's a bit jumpy, because I guess it's all so new and different here, but we immediately made friends. She's about three or four months old and looks like this. She lives downstairs in the garage for now, because we haven't introduced her to Rogue yet. Any advice on how to get cats used to each other, by the way, would be very welcome!

I've called her Kaylee, after the Firefly mechanic. She has a black patch under her chin that looks like engine grease, and she's so small and cute and gentle that the name just fit. Her left hind leg seems to limp a bit, and she's very quiet and still. She ate, though, and she purrs a lot, so I think she's probably just tired and maybe underfed--she was a stray. We're going to make a vet appointment for her soon, just to get her checked out.

I've almost finished another drawing, this one of Jacen and Jaina Solo. The end of Invincible just upset me, so I had to just express it all by drawing the twins. I still don't like LOTF though. I'm still in denial. Grrr.

It's true, I get more upset about fiction than about facts. Weird, but that's how it is.

Also, my most recent poll indicates that a lot of you guys are interested in tutorials and the like for me--so, anything specific that you'd like to see? Comment below and let me know!

Aaand finally, my subscription runs out tomorrow, so here's lots of features!

First-off, I'd like to direct all of you over towards *HiddenMutation, who's both a lovely girl and a great artist, and I think she'd really appreciate some more feedback and advice on her work. Some pieces from her gallery:

I'm now taking commissions and I've started on "The Project", so named because I can't come up with a decent name for it. If you want, the information is in this journal entry.

Love doesn't lead to the dark side. Passion can lead to rage and fear, and can be controlled, but passion is not the same as love. Controlling your passions while being in love, that's what they should teach you to beware, but love itself will save you
You're welcome!
