Celtic Dream by SvenjaLiv Celtic Dream by SvenjaLiv
This is a painting based off a sketch I did [[link] I don't really like how it turned out, acrylics are evil. I sold it a few days ago, though, so I figured it can't be that bad! So yes, this is the 4th picture I've ever sold, yay me.

Acrylics on watercolour paper, 2005.

This is a great composition! I understand it is difficult to use less familiar mediums, but I think you did a great job with the acrylics here!

How beautiful!! And I'm with ~jedirikk: you are the MASTER! ;) Gorgeous blending, especially on the skin--I would imagine moonlight on skin is particularly difficult to get right, but this looks amazing! Her expression is wonderful, almost a mix of serenity and melancholy... And I adore the Celtic scrollwork around the bottom... No wonder this sold (and congrats on that, btw! )! A beautiful work!

Thanks a million! Pfft, I still don't like it, acrylics are difficult to work with because they dry so fast! That's why I avoid them now - that and I don't have the patience. But thank you so much for your kind words, and for the favourite - it's very encouraging. :D

It looks great, I really like it. I've never sold a drawing but I'll try to do something about it this summer, I need more drawings first.

Thanks so much! :D And yeah, I sold my first one a bit over a year ago I think. It takes a while before people notice you and see your stuff. The only thing is: Keep trying and don't get discouraged. It just takes time before you really get your work out there. ;)

Well, I don't even know where to sell it. You know, there isn't really a place here for that.

There isn't here, either. Just keep an eye out for open exhibitions where you might be able to put your work. Or print off copies (even with a standard printer) and hang them in shops saying "Commissions taken" or something!

O, I thought about making portraits of ppl photos for money. So maybe I'll put the advertisment this summer.

That's a good idea. I think it's easier to make money when you do drawings that people specifically requested.

If acrylics are evil, then you are a master of evil.... :evillaugh:
I can't believe that something so pretty can come from the wicked!
No wonder it sold, four down, many to go.
